About us
For four generations, the Graf family has been deeply rooted in the oak processing industry in the United States.
Founded in 2003 by Greg and Dave Graf, Graf Brothers has grown into a major player in the American oak industry, recognized worldwide for the quality and consistency of its quarter- and half-quarter-sawn lumber. In 2024, the company joined the Charlois Group, a vertically integrated oak specialist with deep expertise in premium European oak, spanning the entire value chain from sustainable forestry to finished products. Graf Brothers focuses on the precise processing of Quercus alba, producing exceptional moldings, solid and engineered oak flooring, and premium staves for the wine and bourbon industries.
Vertical Integration & Oak Mastery
In June 2025, Charlois established the OAKING group, bringing together Graf Brothers and Kelvin Cooperage, two complementary players in the American oak industry.
Graf Brothers contributes its expertise in American white oak sourcing, sawmilling, lumber and stave production, solid and engineered oak flooring, and advanced wood processing, while Kelvin Cooperage represents the craftsmanship of barrel making and the production of casks for distilleries.
From Appalachian Forests to Premium Oak Products
With two sawmills on site, the sawing capacity of two dedicated subcontractors, and log yards located throughout the Appalachian region, Graf Brothers processes more than 100,000 m³ of logs each year, transforming them into premium lumber, flooring, and staves for wine and bourbon barrels.
In South Shore, Kentucky, in the heart of the majestic White Oak forests
Located near Kelvin Cooperage and Bourbon Country, the Graf Bros team has diversified its activities to include the manufacture of high-quality staves.
Since 2023, the company has operated the largest single-site stave mill capacity in the United States, consolidating its role as an industry leader.
