Where Nature Meets Precision
Based in South Shore, Kentucky, Graf Brothers is a global benchmark in the processing of American white oak (Quercus alba). Backed by three generations of expertise, the company has elevated engineered oak flooring to the status of a premium material, combining nobility, stability, and high performance.
An Exceptional Raw Material: American White Oak
The Appalachian forests, homeland of American white oak, offer unique growing conditions:
• slow growth that ensures a fine, tight grain,
• a homogeneous structure that promotes excellent stability,
• a high concentration of aromatic compounds, resulting in dense, resilient, and naturally bright oak.
This high-altitude terroir gives Graf Brothers oak a warm, elegant, and timeless identity.
Complete Mastery of Oak
Every Graf Brothers flooring is the result of a fully integrated process, from log selection through to the final finish:
• Quarter and plain-sawn cutting: the grain of the wood is respected to reveal the natural beauty of oak and ensure optimal structural stability.
• Air Drying: 3-6 months.
• Precision machining: the top layer of solid oak is bonded to a multi-ply or high-density plywood core, achieving the perfect balance between aesthetics and technical performance.
• Individual quality control: every board is inspected, sanded, and calibrated to meet the highest standards of architects, joiners, and interior designers.
A Sustainable and Integrated Approach
Long committed to the responsible management of American forests, Graf Brothers makes use of 100% of the oak it processes: nothing is wasted, from the log down to the sawdust.
The company is certified under the NHLA Sustainability program, helping to ensure that forest resources are preserved for future generations.
Through its integration into the Charlois Group, Graf Brothers is now part of a fully integrated oak value chain — from forest to finished products — following a circular and virtuous model.
